These terms apply when you play Word Duel (“the game”), made by Favalia (“we”, “us”), on iPhone, iPad or Android.
1. PLAYING
Word Duel is a word game, free to play. Play fairly: no automated play, no interfering with other players' duels, and no trying to get at other people's accounts. Accounts that do are closed.
2. YOUR PLAYER
You are responsible for keeping your password to yourself. Pick a player name others can live with: names that impersonate someone, or that are there to abuse, will be changed or removed. You can delete your player at any time from the app, and that removes everything with it.
3. COINS, ADS AND GOING AD-FREE
- Coins are part of the game, not money. They buy extra hearts. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, cannot be transferred between players, and are not refundable by us.
- Coins can be earned by playing, or bought in the app. Purchases are handled by Apple on iPhone and iPad, and by Google Play on Android, and charged to the account you buy with; refunds are theirs to give, through their usual process.
- Ads can be removed two ways: a monthly subscription (US$4.99 a month) or a one-off unlock (US$49.99); the store shows the price in your currency before you buy. The monthly plan renews itself until you cancel it in your Apple Account or Google Play subscriptions, and cancelling stops the next payment rather than refunding the current one. The one-off unlock never renews. Both belong to the account that bought them and can be restored on your other devices with the same store, and on iPhone and iPad the one-off unlock is shared with your Family Sharing group.
- Inviting a friend pays 100 coins to each of you once they have created a player. Inviting yourself, or making accounts to collect the bonus, means no coins, and may mean losing the account.
- Coins bought in the app stay with the account they were bought on; deleting the account ends them.
4. THE GAME CHANGING
A game gets balanced: word lists, scoring, prices and rewards can change. Features can be added or retired. If a change would take away something you paid for, we will say so first.
5. NO PROMISES WE CAN'T KEEP
Word Duel is provided as it is. We do our best to keep it running and your progress safe, but we can't guarantee it will never be unavailable or that nothing will ever be lost. Nothing here takes away rights you have under the law where you live.
