PLAYING
How do I play?
Your runner runs by itself and never jumps. Drag your finger to draw lines: a bridge over a hole or pond, a ramp over a rock or tree, a shield against falling stones and snowballs, a wall against birds and cars. Your first run is a practice run past every obstacle, and ? on the menu shows How to Play with live demos.
My line was right there, but I still crashed
- Start ramps on the ground before the obstacle: your runner can't jump up onto a line.
- Lines only carry your runner from above. From the side, your runner passes through them.
- Keep ramps gentle when riding: bikes and segways can't climb steep lines.
- Time slows down while your finger is on the screen, so take a moment.
Stuck on a mission?
Tap SHOW ME THE WAY: every line the mission needs appears as a dashed guide, and you draw along it.
I ran out of ink
Every line costs ✎1. Grab the pens on the way (a rare ×3 pen is worth three), and the further you run, the more ink you earn: at 50 m, 100 m, 200 m and beyond.
What does a ride do?
A ride takes one hit for you: it smashes, your runner flips over the obstacle and keeps running without losing a heart. Falling into a hole still costs a heart.
THE PUPPY, TREATS AND DAILY PLAY
How do I name or dress my puppy?
Open the wardrobe and pick the PUPPY tab. Tap the name to change it, then pick a coat, something for its neck and a hat.
What are treats for?
Treats come from every run, stars, quests and your day streak. Spend them in the wardrobe on runners, outfits, rides and things for your puppy. Locked things can also be tried for one run.
Daily Run, quests and streak
The Daily Run is a new course every day, the same for everyone, with its own Game Center leaderboard. You also get three quests a day, and opening the game on days in a row grows your streak and its treats. Everything refreshes at midnight, your time.
ADS
When do ads appear?
Never during a run, and not at all in your first 8 missions. After that, a full-screen ad plays after every 3 finished missions and every 2 Marathon runs. Other ads only play if you choose them: to keep running after your last life, to see the way, to double your treats or to try something on for one run.
How do I turn off personalised ads?
On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking and turn Borij off. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland you can also change your choices from AD CHOICES in the game's Settings. See the Privacy Policy for details.
BORIJ PLUS AND PURCHASES
What do I get with BORIJ PLUS?
No ads at all, double treats from every run, help and try-ons without an ad, and 40% of the wardrobe unlocked. It's $19.99 a year or $3.99 a month in the US (prices vary by country), and it renews automatically until you cancel.
I just want the ads gone
Remove Ads is a one-time $4.99 purchase on the same screen: no more full-screen ads between runs. Ads you choose to watch stay available.
Restore, cancel or refund
- Restore: open BORIJ PLUS from the menu or Settings and tap Restore Purchases (same Apple Account).
- Cancel or change a subscription: tap MANAGE SUBSCRIPTION, or open Settings › your name › Subscriptions on your device.
- Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
PROGRESS AND SETTINGS
Where is my progress saved?
Missions, stars, treats, your wardrobe and your puppy are saved on your device. They come back with an iCloud or computer backup of it, but deleting the app deletes them. Purchases come back with Restore Purchases, and Game Center keeps your leaderboard scores and achievements. There is no account.
No sound?
Check SOUND and MUSIC in the game's Settings (the gear on the menu, or the pause card during a run). On iPhone, the game follows the silent switch.
Notifications
The game asks after your first reunion with your puppy. With notifications on, you get a few reminders after you stop playing (a day, 3 days, a week and two weeks later, never at night, then they stop) and the occasional game news. Turn them on or off with NOTIFICATIONS in the game's Settings. If they won't turn on, allow notifications for Borij in your device's Settings › Notifications.
Light or dark?
In the game's Settings, THEME can be DAY, NIGHT or AUTO (follows your device's appearance).
Language
Borij is in English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Turkish, Japanese, Korean and Chinese (Simplified), and follows your device's language. To pick another one for Borij only, open Settings › Apps › Borij › Language.
